We kicked off our 2008 season at the Babes & Babies trunk show hosted by Appel & Frank. The show had a great community vibe with hip moms, moms to be, and stylish babies shopping this well organized, and well attended event. Karen & Jody really know how to put on a great show!

Thanks so much to all who came out to support Chicks and Frogs. It was great seeing Gloria, Lourdes, (sorry I missed you Mae of Ruby’s Garden). A special shout out to my good friend, Desirae who helped me “woman” the booth and to my awesome husband, Eugene, who helped me “man” the kids. Desirae (proud momma of 3 adorable babes) was able to come. Thanks to her supercool husband Peter who kept the homefront together. Desirae proudly flashed photos of her twins (stored on a Nano – of course) modeling Chicks & Frogs line.

In life, unexpected –spectacular things happen that leave you with a story to tell and a smile for days on end. Suffice it to say I met Jason Newsted, former bassist of the band Metallica! Really great guy! Okay, I admit, I’m not into heavy metal. But, of course after the trunk show, I googled him (I love google) and found out the low down, his days with the band, his philanthropic venture with Little Kids Rock. I could go on and on.

It reminds me that in life, you never know what or who is around the corner. But, sure enough, the more you decide to travel off the beaten path, the more unexpected surprises you’ll find. That what makes life an adventure!

Celebrate life with individually hand-appliqued sugar skull onesies. Día de los Muertos is typically celebrated on Nov 1 (all Saints day) and Nov 2 (all Souls day). The holiday which is symbolized by skulls, joyously celebrates and honors the dead by celebrating the continuation of life.

We can’t believe another year has flown by and we’ll be at the Solano Stroll again this year. Our booth will be in the same place (about Mid-Solano Ave-in front of the Safeway store).

This year’s theme is “Going Green – It’s Easy”. For the kiddies, there’s Kidtown, featuring dunk tanks, giant slides, pony rides, carnival games, clowns, stilt walkers, face painters, jugglers, and much more.
